On August 27, WPhD hosted it's start-of-the-semester Welcome Back Party! We also celebrated the graduation of three of our members---Sohee Park, Alisa Yurovsky, and Shinyoung Cho!
On March 6th, we organized a watch part for tensor Dev summit from Google Sunnyvale, CA. We streamed it live in conference room. We had about 30 attendees. The session was sponsored by Google. On March 7th, we had streamed a live QnA session where students anonymously posted questions and tensor flow dev team answered them
On November 17, 2017, WPhD organized a student panel with the Distinguished Lecture Series Speaker -- Dr Nir Shavit to discuss research and other topics.
On Nov 1, 2017, WPhD moderated a student panel to give students an opportunity to meet with the DLS speaker, Dr Steven Salzberg, and ask him questions about his research, science, and academia.
